Andrew Chavez serves as the director of Support Services.
Chavez’s career of state service began in October 1984 with the Department of Health and Human Services. He joined TxDOT in December of 1992 as a civil rights compliance specialist for the newly established Civil Rights Division. From 1995 to 2011, he held several positions within the Lubbock District, including construction records auditor, maintenance contract manager and business service coordinator.
In December 2011, Chavez was appointed as TxDOT’s assistant region director for operations.
In January 2014, Chavez was appointed as director of Support Services Division overseeing print and online services, inventory, asset, surplus, and facilities management, facilities planning and building engineering as well as the operations of the regional distribution centers and sign shops.
A native of Clovis, New Mexico, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern New Mexico University.
