A section of SH 43 in northwestern Panola County will receive a new riding surface this spring according to plans approved in January by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
“We will be resurfacing a 4.1-mile section of the highway from FM 959 to the Rusk County line in Tatum” said Ray Brady, area engineer for TxDOT in Marshall.
Madden Contracting Company of Minden, La., was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $2.1 million.
Work on the project should begin in April and take about two months to complete, Brady said.
