PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a portion of FM 1753 in Fannin County will be closed for culvert replacement work beginning July 8.

Contractor DL Lennon Inc. will detour traffic on FM 1753, from State Highway 78 to FM 274, onto FM 898 for about 30 days while performing this drainage work, officials said. Message boards are in place along this route to alert drivers of the upcoming temporary detour.

Motorists who regularly travel along this portion of FM 1753 in Fannin County are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible while this project is underway. They should also pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones, and avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
