Lane restrictions on the Mertzon exit off Loop 306 will begin today and are expected to last two months. This is the final ramp on Loop 306 to see upgrades as part of the $7.4 million dollar Loop 306 job that began in March of last year. This project has seen the improvements to guardrail and the resurfacing of the main lanes and exit ramps of 6 miles of Loop 306. The contractor, Reece Albert, is currently finishing up work with striping and pouring concrete under the newly installed guardrail. The project is set for completion in March of 2018.
Additionally, crews have been working on Sherwood Way in front of the new HEB since last summer. Improvements in this area have added new turn lanes off the frontage road and FM 2288 as well as an entrance to HEB from the frontage road with access to the Bluffs subdivision. Drainage has also been improved in the area with the completion of a concrete drainage channel from FM 2288 to the frontage road. Sidewalks and a new traffic signal have also been included in the $3.9 million dollar project. Remaining work includes the addition of a concrete curb along the curve heading toward Sherwood Way and resurfacing this last section of road from the frontage road from where the concrete surface ends to Sherwood Way. This work is expected to be completed during nighttime hours to lessen the impact on traffic. This project is expected to be completed by March 2018.
