Summer P.A.S.S. (Person Appointed to Stay Sober)

P.A.S.S. LogoHistorically, the summer months see an increase in traffic on our Texas roads and highways. Unfortunately, the months of May through August also see an increase in DWI alcohol-related crashes and fatalities. As a result, TxDOT launched the Summer P.A.S.S. program.

The program’s key message: If you’re planning on drinking this summer, make sure you have a Summer P.A.S.S. (Person Appointed to Stay Sober) to drive you home. The campaign urges everyone to make plans for a safe and sober ride home in advance—and also reminds them that a sober driver is someone who has not been drinking at all.
