The purpose of these corridor improvements is to improve safety by providing additional capacity during hurricane evacuation events and to reduce traffic congestion due to population growth. Proposed Corridor Improvements
The process of construction is being divided into two phases. The first phase of construction on Spur 10 includes extending Spur 10 south along Hartledge Road, and that work has been completed. The second phase of construction on SH 36 from US 59 to FM 1495 will include widening the two-lane highway to a four-lane highway. The right-of-way process for this phase of construction is currently underway, and some displacements will be required. The public is also encouraged visit the TxDOT project tracker to learn more.
