The Engineering Assistant Career Development Program (EACDP) is designed to:
- Prepare Engineering Assistants (EAs) for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and the Professional Engineer (PE) exams through preparation courses (i.e., EPC 101/102/103) and additional core,
knowledge base and performance based courses
- Strengthen EAs’ practical knowledge and job performance through job rotation
- Provide supervisor, mentor and Professional Development Advisor (PDA) support to EAs
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
EAs have two years from date of hire or two years from entering the
EACDP to obtain the EIT certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) License
EAs have 4 years from the first PE exam attempt to achieve licensure
from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE).
